NUC Grants Full Accreditation to Eleven Academic Programmes Al-Istiqama University, Sumaila, Kano State
The Management of Al-Istiqama University, Sumaila, is delighted to announce with immense pride that the National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted Full Accreditation status to eleven (11) of its academic programmes.
This outstanding milestone follows a rigorous and thorough accreditation exercise conducted by the NUC in November and December 2025. The successful outcome stands as a powerful testament to the University’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence, quality assurance, and the delivery of world-class tertiary education in Northern Nigeria.
Evaluation Criteria and Standards
The accreditation was conducted in strict adherence to the Core Curriculum and Minimum Academic Standards (CCMAS) prescribed by the NUC. Programmes were meticulously assessed across several critical pillars, including:
- Curriculum Content: Depth, relevance, and alignment with contemporary industry needs and global academic benchmarks.
- Academic Staff: Quality, qualifications, experience, and pedagogical competence of the teaching faculty.
- Physical Facilities: Adequacy and modernity of lecture halls, laboratories, workshops, and learning environments.
- Learning Resources: Sufficiency of library holdings, digital repositories, and research tools.
