The Rector of Kaduna Polytechnic, Dr. Suleiman Umar, on behalf of the Governing Council and Management, is pleased to announce the schedule for the institution’s Combined Convocation and 70th Anniversary Ceremony.
This historic and significant event will confer diplomas, fellowships, and prizes on graduands from the 2016/2017 to 2024/2025 academic sessions, while also commemorating seven decades of excellence in technical education and national development.
Schedule of Events
The week-long celebration will feature a rich blend of spiritual, academic, and social activities culminating in a grand finale:
- Friday, 8th May, 2026: Special Juma’ah Prayers at the KPT Central Mosque, Main Campus – 1:00 PM
- Sunday, 10th May, 2026: Interdenominational Thanksgiving Service at the KPT Chapel, Main Campus – 10:00 AM
- Monday, 11th May, 2026: Press Conference at the Council Chambers, Central Administration Block – 11:00 AM
- Friday, 15th May, 2026:
- Pre-Convocation Lecture: Delivered by Hadiza Bala Usman (Special Adviser to the President) at the Civil Engineering Lecture Theatre – 2:30 PM
- Convocation Dinner: Multipurpose Hall, Department of Hospitality, College of Science and Technology (CST) – 5:00 PM (By Invitation Only)
- Saturday, 16th May, 2026 (Grand Finale): Award of Diplomas, Fellowships, and Prizes at the Convocation Square, Main Campus, Tudun Wada – 9:00 AM Prompt
Notice to Graduands: Academic Gowns
All graduands are required to observe the following guidelines for the collection and return of academic gowns:
- Payment: A total of ₦20,000 (₦10,000 for gown rental + ₦10,000 refundable deposit) must be paid at Kadpoly Micro Finance Bank, Central Administration, Main Campus.
- Collection: Academic gowns will be available for collection from Monday, 11th May, 2026 at the Department of Polymer and Textile Technology, College of Science and Technology (CST), Main Campus.
- Return Deadline: All gowns must be returned in good condition on or before Tuesday, 19th May, 2026. A penalty of ₦1,000 per day will be charged for late returns.
General Advisory
Graduands and invited guests are expected to be seated at the Convocation Square by 9:00 AM prompt on Saturday, 16th May, 2026, to ensure the smooth conduct of the ceremony. Punctuality is highly essential.
