The Management of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree is pleased to announce the Matriculation Ceremony for the 2025/2026 Academic Session.
This historic event serves as the official induction and formal rite of passage for all newly admitted students into the academic and social community of the Polytechnic. It marks a significant milestone in their journey toward academic and professional excellence.
According to an internal memorandum dated Tuesday, 7th April 2026, issued by the Office of the Deputy Registrar (Academic Affairs), the Matriculation Ceremony is a mandatory statutory requirement. All fresh students must participate to validate their status as bona fide students of the institution.
I. EVENT SCHEDULE AND LOGISTICS
Date: Friday, 17th April 2026 Venue: Poly-Celebration Ground, Main Campus Time: 10:00 AM Prompt
The ceremony is open to all fresh HND I, ND I, and NCE I students.
II. MANDATORY REGISTRATION DEADLINE
Only students who have fully regularized their records with the Admissions Office and their respective departments will be eligible to participate in the Matriculation Ceremony.
Final Deadline: Thursday, 16th April 2026
All students must complete the following by the deadline:
- Payment of school fees
- Online course registration
- Departmental clearances
Note: Failure to meet this deadline will be regarded as a lack of interest in the admission offer and may attract sanctions, including forfeiture of the admission or exclusion from the oath-taking exercise.
III. GUIDELINES FOR MATRICULATING STUDENTS
- Academic Regalia: All matriculants must wear the official OSPOLY academic gown. Details on payment, collection, and return of gowns will be communicated through Faculty Officers.
- Dress Code: In addition to the academic gown, students are expected to dress decently in formal or traditional attire. The Polytechnic enforces a zero-tolerance policy on indecent dressing.
- Punctuality and Procession: All matriculating students must arrive at the venue and be seated no later than 9:30 AM. Latecomers will not be allowed to join the academic procession once the Rector’s party has commenced entry.
- Matriculation Oath: The administration of the Matriculation Oath is the highlight of the ceremony. All students are required to stand and recite the oath solemnly, as it constitutes a binding commitment to abide by the rules and regulations of the Polytechnic.
IV. ADVISORY TO PARENTS, GUARDIANS AND GUESTS
- Seating: Designated seating areas have been provided for parents and guests. All guests are kindly requested to remain in these areas to ensure the smooth conduct of the proceedings.
- Photography: Professional photographers are advised to operate only from designated media zones and avoid obstructing the academic procession.
- Celebrations: While we celebrate with our students, all private receptions should be conducted in an orderly manner that respects the peace and environment of the campus.
