The Management is delighted to announce the Formal Matriculation Ceremony for the 2025/2026 Academic Session. This sacred academic rite marks the official induction of newly admitted students into the Degree, National Certificate in Education (NCE), and Professional Diploma in Education (PDE) programmes.
The ceremony symbolizes a profound transition — the formal entry of these promising scholars into the academic community and their solemn commitment to the values, rules, and noble traditions of the institution.
I. EVENT SCHEDULE AND LOGISTICS
Date: Thursday, 16th April 2026 Time: 11:00 AM Prompt Venue: Paul Alabi Multipurpose Hall
All matriculating students, faculty members, and invited guests are expected to observe the schedule with utmost punctuality and decorum to ensure a smooth and memorable occasion.
II. ACADEMIC PROCESSION
The Academic Procession remains a cherished and dignified tradition of the matriculation exercise.
Assembly Point: The Quadrangle Assembly Time: 10:30 AM Prompt
All Members of Staff and Principal Officers are kindly requested to participate fully in the procession. Participants must be attired in their full Academic Regalia (Gowns, Hoods, and Caps) appropriate to their rank and qualifications.
III. GUIDELINES FOR MATRICULATING STUDENTS
- Punctuality: All students must be seated in the Paul Alabi Multipurpose Hall no later than 10:30 AM to allow for the seamless entry of the academic procession.
- Matriculation Oath: Every student is required to actively participate in the collective swearing of the Matriculation Oath. This solemn pledge is mandatory for recognition as a bona fide student of the institution.
- Academic Gowns: Students who are yet to collect their gowns are advised to visit their respective Faculty or Departmental Offices immediately for clearance and collection.
IV. CALL FOR STAFF COOPERATION
The success and grandeur of this ceremony rest on the collective commitment of the entire university community. Members of Staff are therefore kindly requested to:
- Complete all administrative responsibilities related to the ceremony well in advance.
- Provide support in the orderly coordination of students at the Quadrangle and within the Multipurpose Hall.
- Cooperate fully with the security and protocol teams to sustain a serene, dignified, and orderly atmosphere throughout the proceedings.
