1. The Convocation Lecture Date: Wednesday, 15th April, 2026 Time: 10:00 AM Prompt Venue: Polytechnic Auditorium Guest Lecturer: Chief Dr. Nnia J. Nwodo
All graduands, academic staff, and members of the Polytechnic community are strongly encouraged to attend this enlightening lecture. It promises deep insights into the dynamic intersections of global technology, contemporary challenges, and the evolving role of polytechnic education in Nigeria.
2. The Grand Convocation Ceremony Date: Thursday, 16th April, 2026 Time: 12:00 PM Prompt Venue: Multipurpose Sports Field
Key Highlights:
- The formal conferment of Higher National Diplomas (HND) and National Diplomas (ND)
- Presentation of special prizes and awards to outstanding graduands
- The Chancellor’s address and other dignitaries’ remarks
VITAL INFORMATION FOR GRADUATING STUDENTS (Class of 2018–2024 Sets)
To ensure the ceremony proceeds with the highest standards of order, decorum, and dignity, all graduands are kindly required to strictly adhere to the following directives:
- Academic Regalia: Convocation gowns and caps must be collected from the respective Departmental Offices. Collection is strictly upon presentation of valid clearance forms and proof of payment of all prescribed convocation fees.
- Procession Protocols: Graduands must be fully attired in their academic regalia and assembled at the Multipurpose Sports Field by 11:30 AM on Thursday, 16th April, 2026. Late arrivals will not be allowed to join the formal academic procession.
- Alumni Induction: All graduates will be formally inducted into the Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic Alumni Association during the ceremony. This marks the beginning of a lifelong relationship with the institution.
ADMINISTRATIVE NOTICE TO GUESTS AND VISITORS
The Management is warmly excited to welcome families, friends, and guests to the campus for this joyous occasion. To guarantee a smooth, secure, and comfortable experience for everyone, the following guidelines are kindly requested:
- Security: All guests are expected to fully cooperate with the Polytechnic Security Unit at the main gate and other designated points.
- Seating Arrangements: Designated seating areas will be provided for parents, guardians, and well-wishers on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Media and Photography: Professional photography, videography, and recording are permitted only within the designated guest areas.
