PUBLIC HOLIDAY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Federal Government has declared Friday, 3rd April 2026 and Monday, 6th April 2026 as public holidays to mark this year’s Easter celebrations.
The Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government, extended warm congratulations to all Christians in Nigeria and in the diaspora on this joyous occasion of Easter.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo urged all Nigerians to reflect on and imbibe the timeless virtues of selflessness, forgiveness, forbearance, and love, as exemplified in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. He further called on citizens to remain steadfast in the values of tolerance, unity, and communal harmony that continue to bind us together as one indivisible nation.
The Minister reiterated that the primary goal of the Federal Government remains the pursuit of policies and decisions that will foster national rebirth, sustainable economic growth, and shared prosperity for all Nigerians.
He wished all Christians a peaceful, reflective, and joyous Easter celebration filled with blessings and renewed hope.
