The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Wednesday, May 27, and Thursday, May 28, 2026, as public holidays to mark the Eid-ul-Adha celebration.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.
While congratulating Muslims in Nigeria and the diaspora, the government highlighted Eid-ul-Adha as a festival that embodies sacrifice, obedience, and compassion. Citizens are encouraged to use this period to pray for the nation’s peace, unity, and prosperity.
The Federal Government wishes all Muslim faithful a blessed and joyful celebration.
