The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) wishes to inform the general public, parents, guardians, and candidates that the results for underage participants in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) have officially been made available for viewing. For the purpose of the 2026 academic session, the Board defines an underage candidate as any individual who will not have attained sixteen (16) years of age by September 30, 2026.
How to Access the Result
Underage candidates who sat for the examination can check their scores directly via the text messaging service.

Open the default SMS application on the mobile phone number used during UTME registration.

Type RESULT in capital letters.

Send the SMS to either 55019 or 66019.

Wait for the text response containing the detailed breakdown of the candidate’s performance.
Important Notice on Admission Eligibility
The primary objective of releasing these scores is to enable candidates and their parents or guardians to evaluate academic performance. The Board explicitly emphasizes that the issuance or viewing of an underage result does not confer admission eligibility nor does it guarantee placement into any tertiary institution. These results are strictly non-transferable for admission or official purposes, except for candidates who meet the rigorous requirements set for special consideration. Candidates who fail to meet these statutory requirements are strictly warned against presenting their statements of result to any institution or individual.
Criteria for Exceptional Underage Admission
To accommodate exceptionally gifted applicants, JAMB maintains a strictly merit-based, multi-stage assessment framework. To qualify for exceptional admission consideration, an underage candidate must satisfy all of the following conditions:

UTME Performance: Attain an exceptional minimum score of 320 in the 2026 UTME.

Academic Excellence: Secure a minimum grade score of 80% (or equivalent distinction) across all relevant subjects in the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE).

Institutional Screening: Successfully meet and clear the Post-UTME screening requirements established by their chosen institution.

Comprehensive Evaluation: Participate in and pass the final maturity, cognitive, and academic assessment conducted by the Board.
Status of the Exceptional Admission Process The selection and verification process for exceptionally performing underage candidates remains ongoing and has not been concluded. To maintain equity and fairness, JAMB is deliberately withholding final assessment scheduling until the National Examinations Council (NECO) releases its 2026 SSCE results. This ensures that high-performing candidates awaiting NECO results are given equal opportunity to present their credentials for verification. The official date for the final screening exercise will be announced immediately following the publication and verification of the NECO results.
