COMPREHENSIVE GUIDELINES & PROTOCOLS: 2026/2027 UNILAG Post-UTME Aptitude Test
As the University of Lagos (UNILAG) prepares to administer the 2026/2027 Post-UTME Aptitude Test—scheduled to take place from Monday, July 27, 2026, to Friday, July 31, 2026—we are formally publishing the operational framework for this assessment.
To maintain the highest standards of academic integrity and ensure a seamless testing experience, this examination will be conducted via a highly secure, remotely proctored digital environment. It is imperative that all candidates thoroughly review and strictly adhere to the following directives. Please be advised that any deviation from these protocols may result in immediate disqualification, cancellation of results, or further administrative sanctions.
Section 1: Examination Environment & Candidate Conduct
The integrity of a remotely proctored exam relies heavily on the environment from which the candidate operates. You are solely responsible for securing an optimal testing space.

Continuous Surveillance: All examination activities—including audio, video, and screen data—will be continuously monitored, recorded, and subjected to AI and human review for verification and investigative purposes.

Environmental Isolation: You must take the examination in a quiet, well-illuminated room. No other individual may enter your immediate vicinity or be present in the room for the duration of the test. The presence of unauthorized persons or disruptive background noise will be treated as suspected examination misconduct.

Visibility & Dress Code: Candidates must dress decently and ensure their physical environment is brightly lit to allow for unfettered facial identification. Your face and ears must remain entirely visible within the camera frame at all times.

Prohibited Wearables: The use of face masks, hats (including fez caps), headphones, earbuds, smartwatches, bracelets, smart glasses, or any similar wearable electronic devices is strictly forbidden.

Behavioral Restrictions: You must remain seated in full camera view unless expressly authorized by the examination platform to do otherwise. Speaking, reading questions aloud, or attempting to communicate verbally with third parties is strictly prohibited and will trigger automated flags for malpractice.
Section 2: Technical & Hardware Requirements
Candidates must ensure their technical setup meets the university’s rigorous digital standards prior to their scheduled testing window.

Approved Devices: You must use a standard laptop computer equipped with an integrated (in-built) webcam and microphone.

Prohibited Devices: Desktop computers without integrated cameras, mobile phones, tablets, external webcams, virtual cameras, and HDMI-connected secondary displays are strictly prohibited. These devices bypass proctoring security and will block your access to the test.

Infrastructure Responsibility: Candidates bear absolute responsibility for securing a stable, high-speed internet connection and an uninterrupted power supply. The University accepts no liability for time lost or disconnections arising from local power outages or internet service provider (ISP) failures.

Cybercafé Warning: While the use of personal laptops is strongly advised, candidates who opt to use business centers or cybercafés do so entirely at their own risk. You remain fully responsible for ensuring the public environment meets the strict isolation and noise requirements detailed in Section 1.
Section 3: System Access & Navigation Instructions
The Aptitude Test is designed to run exclusively on secure software. Access your dashboard using your UTME Registration Number as your username and your Surname (typed entirely in lowercase) as your password via any of the following channels:

Pre-Examination Setup (Safe Examination Browser)

Step 1: Upon logging into the dashboard, click “Take Exam” to access the mandatory setup page. You must download and install the Safe Examination Browser (SEB) specific to your operating system. (Note: Only Windows 10 or later, and macOS Ventura or later, are supported. Unsupported operating systems will fail the security check).

Step 2: Follow the installation prompts and explicitly grant the SEB software all requested system permissions (camera, microphone, screen recording). Failure to grant these permissions will block your entry.

Step 3: Once installed and permissions are granted, return to the dashboard and click “Click here to take your exam” to initialize the test.
Time Management
The examination is strictly timed to last for thirty (30) minutes. The countdown timer begins the moment you click “Start Examination.” This timer runs continuously on the server—it does not pause for localized internet drops, device reboots, or temporary logouts. Once the time expires, your responses will be automatically submitted and the session will close.
Section 4: Mandatory Mock Examination (System Diagnostics)
To preempt technical difficulties on your actual test day, UNILAG has deployed a Mock Examination platform. Participation is compulsory.

Purpose: This diagnostic test is designed exclusively to verify device compatibility, confirm SEB functionality, calibrate your webcam/microphone, and stress-test your internet connectivity.

Conditions: You must take the Mock Examination using the exact same laptop, network connection, and physical environment you intend to use for the actual test.

Deadline: The diagnostic portal remains open and free of charge until 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026.

Disclaimer: Successfully completing the Mock Examination does not guarantee seamless access on the actual test day if you subsequently alter your hardware, software configurations, or location.
Section 5: Official Disclaimers & Institutional Authority
Beware of Fraudulent Syndicates
The general public is formally notified that UNILAG has not appointed, licensed, or authorized any third-party individual, organization, CBT center, or cybercafé to register, facilitate, or supervise this Post-UTME screening on its behalf. The examination is strictly independent and online.

Approved Financials: The singular, total approved fee for the 2026/2027 screening exercise is ₦5,500.00(comprising a ₦2,000.00 Application Fee and a ₦3,500.00 Administrative Fee).

Zero Tolerance for Extortion: Candidates are heavily warned against making supplementary payments to entities claiming to offer “assistance,” “upgrades,” or “approved UNILAG CBT services.” Engaging with unauthorized agents is done at your own financial and academic risk.
University Prerogatives

The University reserves the sovereign right to dynamically verify the identity of any candidate before, during, or after the examination.

Any form of malpractice—including impersonation, multiple concurrent logins, utilization of AI or third-party assistance, or the deployment of prohibited hardware—will result in immediate expulsion from the admission process and potential legal referral.

The University retains the right to investigate technical claims, reschedule, or cancel examinations where institutional integrity is compromised. The decisions of the University regarding the conduct and outcome of this test are final and binding.
Technical Support & Escalation Channels
If you encounter critical technical difficulties before or during your scheduled session, do not panic. Immediately utilize the “Need Help?” feature located directly on the examination platform to log a ticket. You must exhaust standard troubleshooting steps before escalating.
