ND and HND Admission Screening Exercise for 2026/2027 Academic Session

Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, for the 2026/2027 academic session.

1. National Diploma (ND) Programmes

Entry Requirements

• UTME Cut-Off Mark: A minimum score of 100 or above in the 2026 UTME.

• O’Level Prerequisites: At least five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or their equivalent.

• Screening Fee: ₦2,000 only.

Available ND Courses

• School of Applied Sciences: Computer Science, Environmental Science & Management Technology, Statistics, Science Laboratory Technology.

• School of Engineering: Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Welding & Fabrication Engineering.

• School of Business & Management Studies: Accountancy, Banking & Finance, Business Administration & Management, Crime Management, Law, Marketing, Office Technology & Management, Petroleum Marketing & Business Studies, Public Administration.

• School of Communication Arts: Library & Information Science, Mass Communication.

2. Higher National Diploma (HND) Programmes

Entry Requirements

• O’Level Prerequisites: Five (5) credit passes in SSCE (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB) including English and Mathematics.

• ND Certification: Minimum of a Lower Credit pass in a relevant ND programme from an NBTE-accredited institution.

• Industrial Training (IT): Evidence of a completed one (1) year post-ND industrial work experience. (Note: Candidates with a “Pass” grade in their ND must show evidence of at least two (2) years post-ND industrial work experience).

• Registration Fee: ₦10,000 only.

• School of Applied Sciences: Artificial Intelligence, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Environmental Biology, Microbiology, Networking & Cloud Computing, Physics with Electronics, Software & Web Development, Statistics.

• School of Engineering: Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering (Options: Electronics & Telecommunication | Instrumentation & Control | Power & Machines).

• School of Environmental Studies: Architectural Technology, Building Technology, Estate Management & Valuation, Quantity Surveying, Surveying & Geo-Informatics, Urban & Regional Planning.

• School of Business & Management Studies: Accountancy, Business Administration & Management, Office Technology & Management.

• School of Communication Arts: Journalism & Media Studies, Strategic Communication & Media Studies.

3. Required Documents for Upload

Before beginning your online application, please ensure you have clear, scanned copies of the following documents:

1. Recent Passport Photograph.

2. Birth Certificate or Age Declaration.

3. For HND Applicants Only: One (1) year Industrial Attachment (IT) Letter.

4. For HND Applicants Only: Official ND Transcript or Statement of Result (or a photocopy of your HND registration receipt).

4. Method of Application (Step-by-Step)

The application process for both ND and HND tracks is completely digital via the centralized portal: www.akwaibompolyverify.com.

Step 1: Account Creation -> Step 2: Form Completion -> Step 3: Document Upload -> Step 4: Online Payment -> Step 5: Print Slip

1. Visit the portal at www.akwaibompolyverify.com.

2. Create an application profile using a valid email address and active phone number.

3. Fill out the application form carefully and accurately according to your selected track (ND or HND).

4. Upload all required support documents listed in Section 3.

5. Process your payment online via the integrated secure payment gateway (₦2,000 for ND / ₦10,000 for HND).

6. Submit your form and print the generated Acknowledgement Slip for screening purposes.
