Yobe State University Announces Matriculation Ceremony for 2026 Academic Session
The Management of Yobe State University (YSU), through the Student Affairs Division, is pleased to announce the official schedule for the 2026 Matriculation Ceremony.
This significant milestone marks the formal induction of newly admitted students into the university’s academic community, conferring upon them the full rights, privileges, and responsibilities of recognized scholars of Yobe State University.
The ceremony is mandatory for all 100 Level students and 200 Level Direct Entry (DE) candidates who have successfully completed their screening and registration processes.
Ceremony Details
Date: Tuesday, 31st March, 2026 Target Audience: All newly admitted 100 Level and 200 Level Direct Entry students
Students are required to be properly attired in the official academic regalia and seated before the commencement of the academic procession.
Matriculation Gown Collection
To participate fully in the ceremony, eligible students must collect the official university matriculation gown. The following arrangements have been made:
- Administrative Fee: ₦500 (payable at the Bursary Department)
- Collection Period: Thursday, 26th March – Monday, 30th March, 2026
- Collection Time: From 10:00 AM daily
Gown Return Policy
Students are personally responsible for the safe custody and timely return of the assigned gown.
- Return Deadline: Tuesday, 7th April, 2026
- Late Return Penalty: ₦1,000
- Note: Gowns must be returned in good condition. Any damage may attract additional replacement costs.

This directive, issued by Mr. Gambo A. Ali, Students Affairs Officer, on behalf of the University Management, is a formal academic requirement. All concerned students are urged to comply strictly with the outlined guidelines to ensure the ceremony is conducted with the dignity and decorum it deserves.
