The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new rule for all 2026 UTME candidates.
From now on, every candidate must clearly state whether they are already a student in any university, polytechnic, or college of education during registration.
This new step, announced by JAMB Registrar Prof. Is-haq Oloyede in Onitsha, is to help stop impersonation and exam malpractice.
JAMB discovered that over 90% of those caught cheating in the 2025 UTME were already students in higher institutions.
Important Warning:
If you lie about your current admission status, you could face serious punishment, including cancellation of your registration, withdrawal of admission, or even prosecution.
JAMB says this move will make the admission process in Nigeria fair, transparent.
