The management of Osun State University (UNIOSUN) has officially released the admission list for the 2026/2027 academic session. The provisional admission lists are now live on the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
This milestone marks a critical phase in the ongoing 2026/2027 admission exercise. Candidates who selected UNIOSUN as their institution of first choice can now verify their admission status online.
Comprehensive Guide: How to Check Your UNIOSUN Admission Status on JAMB CAPS
Checking your admission status requires navigating the official portal correctly. Follow these steps to access your profile:
-
Visit the Portal: Go to the official JAMB e-Facility portal.
-
Log In: Enter the email address and password linked to your unique JAMB profile.
-
Access Your Dashboard: Locate and click on the Check Admission Status tab.
-
Input Your Details: Select the correct examination year (2026) and accurately input your unique JAMB Registration Number.
-
View Status: Click on Check Admission Status to view your provisional offer.
-
Navigate to CAPS: Click on Access JAMB CAPS for more detailed information, specific program offers, and interactive admission features.
What to Do Immediately After Checking Your Status
Scenario A: If You Have Been Offered Admission
Receiving an admission offer is a major achievement, but it requires prompt administrative compliance:
-
Accept or Reject Promptly: Log into your JAMB CAPS dashboard and click Accept Admission. Caution: Never reject an admission offer unless you are entirely certain of your decision, as this action is often irreversible and can terminate your admission process for the session.
-
Print Your Slips: Print your official JAMB Admission Letter and JAMB Result Slip immediately after accepting the offer.
-
Monitor UNIOSUN Portals: Keep a close watch on the official Osun State University website and student portal for subsequent instructions regarding physical clearance, document verification, payment of acceptance fees, school fees schedules, and matriculation timelines.
Scenario B: If Your Status Reads “Not Admitted”
Seeing “Not Admitted” or “Admission in Progress” can be stressful, but candidates should remain calm and proactive:
-
Understand the Phased Release: University admission lists are rarely uploaded all at once; they are typically released in batches. Just because your status hasn’t updated yet does not mean your chance is lost.
-
Upload Your O’Level Results: Ensure that your West African Examinations Council (WAEC), National Examination Council (NEEC), or National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) results are properly uploaded to your JAMB profile via a designated CBT center or your JAMB profile portal. An unlinked O’Level result will automatically stall your admission processing.
-
Keep Checking Regularly: Make it a daily habit to log into your JAMB CAPS profile and monitor subsequent updates.
Vital Security Warning for UNIOSUN Aspirants
Candidates and their parents must exercise extreme caution during this admission cycle:
-
Beware of Admission Fraudsters: Avoid individuals, campus agents, or social media handles claiming to have “special back-door access” to UNIOSUN admission lists or promising to upgrade or secure admission in exchange for money.
-
Stick to Official Channels: All legitimate admissions go strictly through JAMB CAPS and verified university platforms. UNIOSUN management does not request cash payments through personal accounts for admission placement.
Final Remarks and Congratulations
The release of the UNIOSUN 2026/2027 admission list brings great anticipation. Candidates who have successfully secured provisional admission are strongly advised to complete all acceptance procedures within the stipulated deadlines to forfeit any risk of cancellation.
For those still waiting, maintain optimism, keep your documentation secure, and continue monitoring official communication channels.
Congratulations to all newly admitted UNIOSUN students, and best wishes to candidates awaiting subsequent batches!
