Professor Kabiru Paramole Elected Dean-Designate of LASU Faculty of Arts
The Lagos State University (LASU) community has elected Professor Kabiru Olawale Paramole of the Department of Religions and Peace Studies as the new Dean-designate of the Faculty of Arts, following a keenly contested election on Tuesday, 14th July, 2026.
Held at the New TETFund Postgraduate Hall I on the Ojo Main Campus, the election highlighted LASU’s ongoing commitment to democratic leadership and academic excellence.

The official results were declared by the Returning Officer and Deputy Registrar/Faculty Officer, Mr. Samuel Gbedozin.
Transition of Leadership
Professor Paramole is set to officially assume office on Saturday, 1st August, 2026. He succeeds the outgoing Dean, Professor Ayo Ayodele, whose meritorious tenure concludes on Friday, 31st July, 2026.
Following the announcement, Professor Ayodele warmly congratulated his successor, expressing absolute confidence that the incoming Dean will build on the faculty’s recent achievements and continue to champion research, innovation, and academic development.
