JUST IN: UPTH College of Nursing Sciences Releases Post-Basic Nursing Admission Form for 2026/2027 Academic Session
The Management of the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) is pleased to announce to the general public that the admission application forms into the School of Post-Basic Nursing Studies (SPBNS) for the 2026/2027 academic session are now officially on sale.
Qualified and interested Registered Nurses wishing to pursue specialized professional training are invited to apply for the 12-calendar-month Post-Basic Diploma Programmes.

Paediatric Nursing
Accident & Emergency Nursing
Key Admission Requirements
Applicants must possess a combination of the following educational and professional qualifications:
O’Level Prerequisites: A minimum of five (5) credit passes in SSCE/WAEC/NECO (obtained in not more than two sittings). These credits must include English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Professional Certification: Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Midwife (RM) with a valid license from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
Clinical Experience: A minimum of one (1) year post-qualification clinical or work experience in a hospital setting is mandatory.
An added advantage: A Bachelor of Nursing Science (B.NSc) degree with a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE)
