As a frontline institution dedicated to the advancement of vocational and technological education, The Polytechnic, Ibadan invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for its National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes. This session marks a renewed commitment to our mandate of producing industry-ready graduates equipped with the technical competencies and innovative mindsets required to thrive in the global marketplace.
I. Available Academic Tracks
Prospective students may apply for the following approved programmes:
- National Diploma (ND): Full-Time and Daily Part-Time options across all accredited faculties.
- Higher National Diploma (HND): Full-Time and Daily Part-Time options for advanced specialization.
II. Statutory Admission Requirements
To maintain our tradition of academic integrity, all applicants must satisfy the following criteria:
For National Diploma (ND) Candidates:
- UTME Compliance: Must have participated in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and achieved the prescribed institutional cut-off benchmark.
- Academic Foundation: A minimum of five (5) O’Level credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained at not more than two sittings.
For Higher National Diploma (HND) Candidates:
- Academic Progression: Possession of a National Diploma (ND) in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution.
- Professional Training: Evidence of completion of the mandatory Industrial Training (IT) period.
- Departmental Standards: Compliance with specific departmental requirements regarding CGPA and course prerequisites.
