Admissions Crunch: The university faces overwhelming demand, noting 5,000+ applicants for 50 Nursing slots and 4,000+ applicants for 120 Mass Communication slots.

ODL Expansion: To expand access, OOU’s Open and Distance Learning (ODL) program will introduce Nursing, Mass Communication, Computer Science, and Business Administration for the 2026/2027 session.

Enrollment & Rankings: Driven by policy reforms, student enrollment grew from 27,785 (2022) to 34,657 (2026). OOU now ranks 15th in Nigeria and 51st in Africa.

Financial & Digital Health: Annual revenue jumped from ₦7 billion to over ₦11 billion, ₦2.1 billion in pension arrears were cleared, and administrative costs dropped via a new paperless ICT system.
