The School of Postgraduate Studies (SPGS), Sule Lamido University, Kafin Hausa, is pleased to invite applications from suitably qualified candidates for enrollment into its diverse array of Postgraduate Diplomas, Master’s, and Doctoral programmes for the 2026/2027 Academic Session.

I. AVAILABLE PROGRAMMES BY FACULTY

Faculty of Computing and Information Technology

• Computer Science: PGD, M.Sc., and Ph.D.

Faculty of Education

• PGDE: Postgraduate Diploma in Education.

• Curriculum Studies: M.Ed. and Ph.D.

Faculty of Humanities

• Arabic (Language or Literature): PGD, M.A., and Ph.D.

• English (Language or Literature): PGD, M.A., and Ph.D.

• Islamic Studies: PGD, M.A., and Ph.D.

Faculty of Natural & Applied Sciences

• Biological Sciences (Botany, Zoology, Microbiology): PGDB, M.Sc., and Ph.D.

• Chemistry (Physical, Analytical, Organic, Inorganic, Polymer & Colour): PGD, M.Sc., and Ph.D.

• Mathematics: PGD, M.Sc., and Ph.D.

• Physics: PGDP, M.Sc., and Ph.D.

II. ACADEMIC ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

General Requirement: All applicants must possess five (5) ‘O’ Level credits in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.

• Postgraduate Diploma (PGD):

  • A Bachelor’s degree (minimum 3rd Class) or a Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least a Lower Credit from a recognized institution.

  • Note: OND + Professional qualifications or Higher Diplomas (HD) are not equivalent to HND for this purpose.

• Master’s Degree Programmes:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 (Second Class Lower) on a 5.00 scale.

  • Candidates with a CGPA of 2.40 must also possess a PGD with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 (Merit).

  • HND holders (Lower Credit) must possess a PGD with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 in a relevant field.

• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.):

  • An Academic Master’s degree from Sule Lamido University or any recognized institution with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 on a 5.00 scale.
