DETAILED SCHEDULE OF PROCEEDINGS
The University has put in place comprehensive arrangements to ensure a seamless, dignified, and memorable ceremony for matriculants, their parents/guardians, and all distinguished guests:
Date: Wednesday, 8th April, 2026 Official Commencement: 10:00 AM Prompt Venue: Multi-purpose Hall, AFUSTA Main Campus
Important Advisory: All parents, guardians, well-wishers, and invited guests are kindly requested to arrive and be seated by 9:15 AM to allow for smooth coordination and to avoid any disruption to the academic procession.
COMPULSORY PROTOCOLS FOR MATRICULATING STUDENTS
To uphold the sanctity and statutory requirements of the University, all fresh undergraduate students (Class of 2025/2026) are mandated to strictly observe the following protocols:
- Collection of Academic Gowns: Matriculants must proceed to their respective Faculty Offices to collect their ceremonial gowns and caps. Collection is strictly conditional upon the presentation of a valid School Fees Payment Receipt and a duly completed Matriculation Verification Form.
- Academic Procession: Participation in the grand academic procession is mandatory. All matriculants must assemble and line up according to their Faculties at the designated area by 9:30 AM. Latecomers will not be permitted to join the procession once the Vice-Chancellor’s party begins its movement.
- The Matriculation Oath: This remains the most solemn and defining moment of the ceremony. Every student is required to publicly take the Oath of Allegiance, solemnly pledging to abide by the rules, regulations, and ethical standards of Abdullahi Fodio University of Science and Technology.
- Signing of the Matriculation Register: Immediately after the ceremony, all matriculants must return to their Faculty Officers to sign the official Matriculation Register. Note: Failure to sign this register means the student has not been formally admitted and will not be recognised by the University Senate as a bona fide student.
ADMINISTRATIVE GUIDELINES FOR PARENTS AND GUESTS
AFUSTA warmly extends its hospitality to the families and loved ones of our new students. To ensure order, safety, and an enjoyable experience for all:
- Parking and Traffic Management: The University Security Unit will direct all vehicular movement. Guests are advised to utilise only the designated Guest Parking Zones to prevent congestion around the Multi-purpose Hall.
- Photography and Recording: While we celebrate this joyous milestone, professional photographers and videographers are kindly requested to restrict their activities and avoid the inner ceremonial area during the Vice-Chancellor’s address and the administration of the Oath to maintain the required decorum.
- Dress Code: As this is a formal academic event of high dignity, all guests are encouraged to dress in appropriate corporate, traditional, or smart formal attire.
