The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) in Kaduna has officially opened applications for its 78th Regular Course. This recruitment drive is the primary entry point for Nigerian citizens seeking to become officers in the Armed Forces of Nigeria. The application period will remain open until April 30, 2026. The selection process is a demanding, multi-stage assessment designed to identify candidates who demonstrate the necessary academic aptitude, physical fitness, and ethical integrity essential for leadership within the military. The curriculum is meticulously accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC), ensuring that the academic standards and rigor align with those of leading civilian universities.
Military Proficiency: Alongside their academic pursuits, cadets undertake intensive military training. This training regimen is meticulously crafted to cultivate tactical expertise, build physical endurance, and instill the essential “Officer Qualities” (OQs) necessary for effective leadership. A proficiency in French or Arabic languages is considered a significant asset, reflecting the strategic importance of regional security interests to the Nigerian state.
Upon the successful culmination of the five-year program, graduating cadets are awarded their academic degrees and, most importantly, receive a Presidential Commission.
