JUST IN: Kwara State Polytechnic, Others Partner With UNILORIN For B.Sc. Degree Awards
The University of Ilorin has expanded its academic reach nationwide with the signing of affiliation agreements with five tertiary institutions, enabling the introduction of new Bachelor’s degree and Diploma programmes.
The Memoranda of Understanding were signed in late December 2025 at the University’s main campus, with senior management officials and representatives of the partner institutions in attendance. The affiliated institutions include Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin; The Polytechnic, Aran-Orin; Imam Malik College, Ibadan; Daalul Khayr Centre for Arts and Islamic Sciences, Ibadan; and Ansar-ud-Deen College of Education, Isolo, Lagos.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, described affiliation as a significant academic responsibility, noting that graduates of affiliated programmes would be awarded University of Ilorin certificates and must uphold the institution’s academic and ethical standards. He assured that the University would maintain strict oversight through regular monitoring and evaluation.
The Director of the Centre for Affiliated Institutions, Prof. Yahya Oyewole Imam, commended the partner institutions for meeting rigorous academic and infrastructural requirements, adding that the collaborations would enhance academic capacity across the affected states.
Under the agreements, Kwara State Polytechnic was approved to run nine Bachelor’s degree programmes, The Polytechnic, Aran-Orin four degree programmes, Imam Malik College one degree programme in Islamic Studies, Daalul Khayr Centre a Diploma programme in Arabic and Islamic Studies, while Ansar-ud-Deen College of Education, Isolo, was approved to offer nine education-related Bachelor’s degree programmes.
