Governor Sanwo-Olu Appoints Prof. Ayodeji Olawunmi Badejo as Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU)

STATE HOUSE, IKEJA — The Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has approved the appointment of Professor Ayodeji Olawunmi Badejo (Nee Faji) as the new Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo.
Professor Badejo, a distinguished Professor of Guidance and Counselling, succeeds Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, whose successful five-year tenure as Vice-Chancellor has come to an end.
About the New Vice-Chancellor
Born on August 4, 1962, Professor Badejo brings decades of academic leadership, research excellence, and institutional administrative expertise to her new role.

Academic Background: She earned both her Doctorate Degree (Ph.D.) and Master’s Degree (M.Ed.) in Guidance and Counselling from the University of Lagos (UNILAG).

Professional Standing: A respected scholar in educational psychology, student development, and institutional counselling, she has served in numerous high-level academic capacities prior to this appointment.
Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed confidence in Professor Badejo’s ability to consolidate LASU’s recent achievements, advance its standing as a world-class institution, and steer the university toward higher frontiers of academic excellence and global competitiveness.
