2026/2027 Admission Notice: Launch of the 5-Year Dual Mandate NCE-Degree Program
The management of the Federal College of Education (FCE), Abeokuta, has officially commenced its admission exercise for the 2026/2027 academic session.
In a statement released by the College Registrar, Tonade Olabode O., the institution is proud to announce a groundbreaking shift in its academic structure in strict alignment with the Federal Government’s new education policy.
The New 5-Year Dual Mandate Program (No JAMB Required)
Capitalizing on newly introduced federal guidelines, FCE Abeokuta has launched the innovative 5-Year Dual Mandate NCE-Degree Program. Qualified candidates can now secure admission into this career pathway without writing the JAMB UTME.
The academic progression is seamlessly structured as follows:

Years 1–3: Candidates complete the standard Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) framework.

Years 4–5: Successful NCE graduates automatically transition into an intensive 2-year Bachelor’s Degree program.
Graduate Benefits & Qualifications
Upon successful completion of the 5-year cycle, graduates will be awarded three distinct credentials:

An NCE Certificate

A Bachelor’s Degree (B.Ed./B.Sc. Ed.) Certificate

A Professional Skill Acquisition Certificate
🎖️ NYSC Eligibility: Graduates who complete the degree phase of the program are fully eligible for mobilization into the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme, subject to the standard national age limits (under 30 years old).
Entry Requirements & Financial Support (NELFUND)
Prospective students eyeing the 3-year NCE foundational phase must meet the following criteria:

A minimum of four (4) O’Level Credits and one (1) Pass in relevant subjects.

Acceptable examining bodies include WAEC, NECO, and NABTEB.
Zero-Interest Student Loans: To ease the financial burden on students, the Registrar emphasized that all candidates admitted into the college’s programs will have direct, streamlined access to the Federal Government Students’ Education Loan (NELFUND) at 0% interest.
