Nature of the Screening Exercise
The screening architecture is split into two formats based on your chosen course of study:
1. Physical (On-Campus) Screening
-
Applicable Courses: Medicine & Surgery, Nursing, and Law (both UTME and Direct Entry applicants).
-
Process: Candidates must sit for a physical Post-UTME Screening Test on the university campus. Specific assessment dates and sitting times will be communicated to individual profiles shortly.
-
Grading Matrix: Screened via a composite score derived from the Post-UTME Test + verified JAMB score + O’Level credentials verified on JAMB CAPS.
2. Online-Only Screening
-
Applicable Courses: All other UTME programmes and standard Direct Entry courses (excluding Medicine, Nursing, and Law).
-
Process: No physical presence is required on campus. The screening is entirely computational and is calculated based on verified JAMB scores and the O’Level results uploaded directly to your JAMB CAPS profile.
Critical Instructions for Candidates
-
Profile Consistency: Ensure that your name layout, JAMB Registration Number, Date of Birth, and State of Origin match identically across both the JAMB CAPS system and the Edo State University database. Discrepancies will trigger immediate automated disqualification.
-
O’Level Upload Prerequisite: Regardless of your performance, only profiles with fully uploaded and verified O’Level results on JAMB CAPS by August 31, 2026, will be factored into the final admission list.
-
Two-Week Admission Acceptance Window: If provisional admission is extended to you, you must log into JAMB CAPS and accept the offer within two (2) weeks. Failure to accept the offer inside this timeframe will cause an automatic, permanent forfeiture of your admission slot.
