The Federal Government has officially declared Friday, June 12, 2026, a public holiday to commemorate Nigeria’s Democracy Day.
This annual observance honors the nation’s democratic journey and pays tribute to the heroes who sacrificed for the restoration and sustenance of democratic governance in Nigeria.
In light of the announcement, government offices, public institutions, banks, and major businesses nationwide will be closed. Citizens are encouraged to use this occasion to reflect on our democratic progress, promote peace, and reaffirm unity.
