LASU Governing Council Reappoints Mr. Emmanuel Fanu as Registrar, Appoints Mr. Olabisi Yusuf as New Bursar
Ojo, Lagos — At its emergency meeting held on Wednesday, 10th June 2026, the Governing Council of Lagos State University (LASU) approved the reappointment of Mr. Emmanuel A. FANU (MANUPA, MNIM) as Registrar and Secretary to the Council. Concurrently, the Council approved the appointment of Mr. Olabisi YUSUF (FCA) as the new Bursar of the University.
Both appointments, which followed a competitive interview process conducted on June 10, 2026, will take effect on Thursday, 2nd July 2026, for a tenure of four (4) years.
Profile of the Registrar: Mr. Emmanuel A. Fanu
Mr. Fanu’s career at Lagos State University spans over two decades, having joined the institution in 1999 as an Administrative Officer II. Through a steady trajectory of dedicated service, he rose through the administrative ranks, serving as Acting Registrar from June 2021 to February 2022, before his substantive appointment as Registrar in June 2022.

Academic Background: Holds a B.Sc. (Ed.) (1996), a Master of Public Administration (2005), and a Diploma in Law—all proudly earned from Lagos State University.

Professional Accomplishments: A highly seasoned administrator, Mr. Fanu is a recipient of prestigious grants from the British Council, the United States Information Service (USIS), and the Lagos State Government, enabling his participation in global conferences on tertiary education management.
Profile of the New Bursar: Mr. Olabisi Yusuf
Mr. Yusuf brings more than 20 years of robust financial management experience to his new role. He will succeed Mr. Said Babatunde OLAYINKA, FCA, whose commendable tenure concludes on Wednesday, 1st July 2026.
Mr. Yusuf joined LASU in 2006 as a Principal Accountant at the Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM) and subsequently excelled in various capacities, including Chief Accountant, Deputy Bursar, and Head of Operations in the University Bursary. Most recently, he served as Deputy Bursar (Treasury Services) and Project Accountant at the Africa Centre of Excellence for Innovative and Transformative STEM Education (ACEITSE).

Academic Background: Holds an HND, a Bachelor’s degree, and a Master’s degree in Accounting.

Professional Affiliations: Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN).
