Recent reports have falsely claimed that students are required to return to their tertiary institutions for physical stamping or manual endorsement of their NERD Clearance Slips. The NERD Project Manager, Mr. Ita Ekpenyong, has categorically debunked these claims, stating that such directives are false and do not emanate from the official NERD system.
NERD emphasizes that its platform is built on the principle of digital autonomy. Physical visits to institutions for stamping or manual verification are not required and are not part of the approved clearance process. Students are therefore advised to disregard any contrary information.

- Invalid or Mismatch: If the information displayed belongs to another person or contains discrepancies, the slip should be treated as compromised.
- Technical Failure: If the barcode is unreadable or the scan fails to retrieve any data, it indicates a possible technical issue with the document.
Important Advisory
Students are strongly warned against following any instructions that require physical stamping or visits to school administrative offices for clearance verification. Such directives are not authorized by NERD and may lead to wasted time, unnecessary travel, and avoidable expenses.
