Key Revised Academic Milestones
To accommodate the anticipated public holidays and facilitate effective preparation, the following adjustments have been approved and shall take immediate effect:
- End of First Semester Lectures — Thursday, 2nd April 2026
- Commencement of Revision Period — Wednesday, 8th April 2026
- Commencement of First Semester Examinations — Monday, 13th April 2026
These dates allow for a structured interlude following the conclusion of lectures, providing students with dedicated time for consolidation of course materials, group discussions, tutorials (where scheduled), and personal revision ahead of the examinations.
Anticipated Public Holidays Impacting the Schedule
The university has aligned its calendar adjustments with the following confirmed and widely anticipated national public holidays:
- Eid al-Fitr (Ramadan Eid): Friday, 20th March 2026 (tentative principal day of celebration) and Monday, 23rd March 2026 (Eid holiday extension, subject to official Federal Government declaration and moon sighting confirmation).
- Easter Break:
- Good Friday — Friday, 3rd April 2026
- Easter Monday — Monday, 6th April 2026

Guidance for Lecturers and Students
- Lecturers are requested to complete all outstanding course deliveries, submit continuous assessment scores promptly, and ensure students receive clear guidance on examination scope and format before the end of lectures on 2nd April 2026.
- Students are encouraged to utilize the revision window (commencing 8th April 2026) productively, engage in peer study groups, consult lecturers during office hours, and access university library and e-learning resources.
- Any adjustments to departmental timetables, make-up classes, or invigilation duties necessitated by these changes should be coordinated through the respective Deans and Heads of Departments in consultation with the Academic Planning Unit.
