This scholarship program is a key part of FUD’s student welfare, created to assist students who might struggle to continue their education due to financial difficulties, particularly those unable to pay registration fees. The university aims to reduce financial obstacles, supporting academic success and preventing students from dropping out.
Scholarship Requirements and Limitations
The university has set clear guidelines for this scholarship, ensuring it functions as a final resource for students lacking other financial support. The eligibility criteria are as follows:

Excluded: Paid Students: Any student who has already completed the payment of their registration fees for the 2025/2026 session is not eligible.

Excluded: NELFUND Beneficiaries:Students who have already been verified for, or have received disbursement from, the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND)are ineligible. This prevents the duplication of benefits and ensures the limited funds reach those without any other credit options.

The scholarship process is governed by a dedicated Benevolent Committee. This committee is tasked with conducting a thorough screening of all applicants to ensure aid reaches the most critical cases.
